Natalia Tykhonova
Natalia Tykhonova (Mills) is a celebrated, classically trained pianist from the Ukraine. Beginning piano studies at the age of five, Natalia holds a bachelor's degree from the Kaarabitsa State Musical College, Artemovsk, Ukraine. Graduate studies include a master's degree from the Donetsk Conservatory, which was named after Sergei Prokofiev in 2006. Natalia is a winner of several international and Ukrainian competitions and has performed with different chamber orchestras, jazz bands and at a variety of festivals.
A dedicated piano pedagogue, Natalia has over 19 years of teaching experience. Most recently, she serves as adjunct professor of music at the American University of Sharjah, where she maintains a piano studio, instructs group piano classes, performs solo concerts, and serves as an accompanist for the AUS Choir. In addition to University teaching, Natalia takes time to instruct a diverse range of private piano students, preparing them for ABRSM examinations, as well as coaching and supporting young pianists in recitals and international competitions.
